In 2025 The Open Door Centre will be marking 40 years of working with adults with learning disabilities!

We are currently planning a series of events over the next 12 months, and we’d love to celebrate with as many past and present members, carers, volunteers, supporters and staff as possible.

We have been so lucky to be so supported over the past 40 years, we’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has been part of our community.

More information on each event will be updated on the website and social media soon, but for now mark these dates in your diary:

• Sunday 26th January - Special Anniversary Quiz at Swindon Conservative Club, Bath Road

• Saturday 1st February - Meal at The Manor, Cheney Manor Road

• Monday 26th May - Swindon’s Famous Duck Race, opposite The Runner, Wootton Bassett Road

• Friday 27th June - Broadtown Brewery meal

• Sunday 13th July - Music Festival at The Bowl, Town Gardens

• Tuesday 5th August - Sponsored walk at Coate Water

• Thursday 25th September - Open Door Birthday Party

• Friday 17th October - Open Door Ball at Blunsdon House Hotel

If you’re planning on running a marathon, scaling a mountain, throwing yourself out of a plane or any other exciting challenges in 2025, and you’re looking for a charity to support with fundraising, please do bear us in mind.
